Absentee Blogging

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated. I have been out of commission for the past month as my appendix burst just before Halloween.

Oh the political commentary that could have been. There was Furor Pelosi’s complaints that the Pentagon had published classified documents about Iraq on its website. Everyone knows such “illegal” disclosures must be made in the NY Times.

Then there was 14 years of betrayal coming home to roost. You know, when you run on a conservative platform, promising to fulfill Reagan’s dream of limited government (and honor the Constitution), and then spend like a drunken Kennedy, you deserve to lose power.

Now, we’re the underdogs again. Frankly, I’m happy about it. With the Democrats in control of the Congress and the Republicans in the Whitehouse, nothing will get done. And at least that’s a form of limited government.

I just hope the terrorist attack(s) in the next two years (which I now preemptively lay at the feet of the Democrats) won’t kill anyone I know.
